There has been an increase in the amount of dog fouling which is occurring in the parish, especially on Ashley Road. This is a major concern as this route is used by many children walking to school. Please clear up after your dog and place in the dog bins provided or take it home and place in your green wheelie bin. This includes clearing up after your dog on footpaths as well as verges outside properties.
The Parish Council is trying to get footpaths cleared of vegetation but this is proving impossible in places because of the amount of dog fouling. The contractors will not clear fouled footpaths.
Offenders will be reported to the Dog War- den which could result in prosecution.
Anglian Water has given notice of work starting on 29th January for approx. 11 weeks which will cause disruption on Fakenham Road. If anyone experiences any difficulties during this period, please call their emergency call centre on 0347 145 145.
Two parishioners kindly collect considerable quantities of rubbish thrown into the verges along Elmham Road. This is mainly on the section between Green Lane and Holt Road although some has now been found along High House Road. It appears that the rubbish being thrown onto the verges is in Co-op bags. It is felt that the problem is caused by drivers using Elmham Road and High House Road as a cut through towards Gressenhall, Litcham and further.
If you see any rubbish being thrown out of vehicles, please take the registration number, date and approximate time and let the Clerk know. The Parish Council will then report this to Breckland Council who deal with fly tipping and if it thinks appropriate Breckland Council will contact the police.

The Beetley Parish Council Community Car scheme is being used by many more parishioners which is excellent but due to the increased demand for these medically related journeys the team of 7 drivers are, at times, stretched.
If you are interested in giving a few very flexible hours from time to time to become a driver which involves taking Beetley parish residents to the Hospital/GP Surgeries/Dentist etc., with payment of 45p per mile (non taxable) then please contact the Parish Clerk Bryan Leigh on 01362 861112.
