A meeting of Beetley Parish Council was held on Thursday 10 January at Beetley Village Hall. There were present seven Parish Councillors one of whom, Councillor R Richmond is also the District Councillor, District Councillor R Duffield and 4 members of the public. The meeting was called to discuss the planning applications below.

Planning
The Parish Council again objected to the revised plans for the erection of 1 dwelling with integral garage at Flint Cottage Fakenham Road East Bilney. This is now a 4-bedroom dwelling whereas the outline permission was for a 3-bedroom dwelling, the turning area for the original dwelling is not suitable and that this should incorporate flint to match the existing dwelling. The new dwelling also overshadows the adjoining dwellings. An objection was raised to the reserved matters application for a dwelling following previous outline approval 3PL/2018/0614/O at Hall Farm Barn Fakenham Road East Bilney as this is larger than the outline and there were concerns regarding the visibility splay when exiting the property onto the Fakenham Road. No objection was raised to the single storey rear extension at18 Elmham Road or for the internal alterations with-in the rear lean-to(north), including realignment of 2 windows, replace with lead covered dormers, install ventilation bricks, extraction fan and install door and fanlight to east elevation of kitchen, repair to lean to roof at Martyrs Cottage Church Road East Bilney, nor to extend timescale for use of existing electricity generation compound at Beetley Landfill Folly Lane, nor to the single storey extension remove, and replace roof to form rooms in roof at Caltra Church Lane Beetley. The members objected to the erection of one cottage style dwelling and garage on the building plot adjacent Highfield Farm Church Road East Bilney as this is larger than the outline the orientation has changed and the dormers are now increased in the front of the building so the dwelling would be more intrusive into the rural aspect of the site.

Planning. Applications. The Parish Council were pleased that the revised plans for the erection of 1 dwelling with integral garage at Flint Cottage Fakenham Road East Bilney showed that the property is to be connected to the mains drainage and that additional parking and turning has been provided. However, the members again objected to the application for the same reasons as previously especially as no turning facility has been provided for Flint Cottage. Decisions. Breckland Council had given approval for the extension and alteration to dwelling to enable additional living and bedroom accommodation on first floor and to demolish the timber frame garage and replace and relocate with a larger garage at Kosikot Church Road Old Beetley.
