BEETLEY PARISH COUNCIL MARCH UPDATE

The County Councillor has kindly donated some of his personal budget to the Wig-Wag signs so the Parish Council has £500 less to pay.
The invoice from Sovereign is a deposit to get things moving if possible for the new goal posts.
Norfolk ALC I have paid to ensure the website stays running. The cost is less than last year.

With regard to other matters Breckland has approved the amendments to fenestration at Vale Farm, refused permission for two self-build bungalows at Beetley Grange and refused the application for the erection of one dwelling and detached garage on plot adjacent to Redroofs Fakenham Road.
I have chased Foxburrow Farm for an answer on their solicitor’s search for crossing rights of the Common but have not had an answer.

The application to the National Lottery for funding for the play area has been refused and Councillors Rose and Leigh will progress this.

I have informed FT grounds to proceed with the grass cutting and this should start on 16/17 April.

The Play Area at Beetley River Meadows has been locked and signed.

I have sent an e-mail to the Pre-School and it is contacting its solicitor but no answer has been received yet.
I have chased Norse to clean the pavilion but have not had a reply. Obviously this will not get done at present.
Norfolk County Council in its consultation on the revised 21 service has stated that there are minimal passengers using the service 21 to Fakenham-0.2 passengers a day from Beetley and whilst Thursday is better supported a Thursday only service would not be sustainable.
Bus services have been amended and at present the Sanders 25 is going to Dereham on Friday but not Tuesday and Sanders 23 is still going to Norwich on a Wednesday but this is being reviewed daily.

A litter pick has been requested along B1146 but this is unlikely to get done yet.

Highways has confirmed that the replacement reflector posts opposite East Bilney Garage and sign at East Bilney opposite the bus shelter are programmed to be replaced. I reported to Breckland a dead deer on B1146 in Beetley and this was cleared quicker than the last time.

The Duck Race has been cancelled.
The Village Hall is closed.

As far as I can ascertain parishioners are looking after near neighbours.
